Bethune House provides shelter and aid to domestic helpers who were previously abused or mistreated. Many of these helpers are unemployed and caught up in legal disputes; without Hong Kong Identity Cards, they are not entitled to any healthcare benefits. Participants will hold seminar sessions to teach them basic first aid principles they may require in domestic emergencies, and educate them on the signs and symptoms of prevalent health issues such as breast and cervical cancer. The educational material will be designed by participants themselves, and each participant will individually lead a small group of 5-6 domestic helpers to practice first aid methods.
